A selection of recordings I made in Senegal and Gambia, West Africa in 1999. I’ve been a student and big fan of West African drumming for 20+ years and spent some time in Senegal living with my teacher’s family and learning about Sabar drumming and Senegalese culture. On that trip I visited the Gambia as well to record some of the drumming there.
